RADIO MESSAGE FROM EARTH (07.DEC.2024 09:43 UTC): "This is Planet Earth
calling Captain Riz Sigma, over! Hi, daddy. We hope you are having a lovely
time up there in space. Oh, mummy says to tell you the papers want to know
whose shirts you wear. I don’t know why that’s funny. We just wanted to tell
you that we miss you and love you very much. Happy Christmas, daddy, from me
and mummy and all the people on Earth!"

    - "Earth"

Although I see the name Jesús Alfaro on
social media frequently, I had no idea of the extent of his work until my
attention was drawn by a tribute being organised by the Hamfuggi label,
which is hugely respected in the experimental field. That lead me to check
out his album "Planets", because... well... that's where the show is going
at the moment! This edition was originally planned to start from Mars, but I
hope you'll agree this one was worth squeezing in first. And thanks to our
Twizz for recording the opening message for context...

    02. Charles Rice Goff III - A Rooster Crowing On Mars (3:00)

The Herd Of The Ether Space / Taped Rugs /
Deprogramming Center man back for a third appearance on the show, this one
being from the album "Language For Unstated Thoughts", and all that with a
name worthy of being the NASA liaison for Preesall Town Council's MARS 24™
mission. I can't help thinking this veteran of the cassette culture scene
will not have been heard on our airwaves for the last time. I'm not
clairvoyant, but I am the one who decides what goes on the playlists. Oh,
    such power, such responsibility... ;->

    03. Astral Magic - Shadows Over Jupiter (Remixed) (7:12)

This Finnish space cadet is becoming
something of a regular on the show too, and with such a prolific output,
we're never gonna struggle finding new tracks. This one, unsurprisingly, is
taken from the album of the same name. Some lovely guitar work on here,
thought it would make a nice change as we're all electro-experimental weirdy
    bits normally. Enjoy...

    04. Peter Missing / M. Habicht / Hackbert - Call Back From Saturn /
    Marsunium (9:26)

You'll probably know the name of Peter
Missing already, he's been in the game longer than I have, best known for
Missing Foundation in the 80's. Later  a resident in Zurich, where
"River Of Creative Forms III" was recorded in 2022, now back in the U.S.A.
from where he originated. This is the accomplished work of a man who has
been on a big journey, plus with the excellent enhancement of Messrs.
Habicht and Fausch. And there's a very interesting interview with Peter on
the Walk On The Wild Side NYC blog, I'll add the link...

    05. Ståålfågel - Utan Rymddräkt På Uranus II (2:59)

It's Swedish, the title means 'on Uranus
without a spacesuit', which is not going to end well. The band name,
according to Google Translate, means 'Eel eel', something's not quite right
there, but that's certainly not the music, nice bit of dub to dance around
in your space boots to. The band, it turns out, originated from the post
punk scene in Stockholm in the late 70's, this track coming to our attention
via the Emotional Rescue label, doing pretty much what it says on the tin,
and my thanks to Stuart for that, keep the faith...

    Christian Wittman - Neptune (Part 1 - Excerpt) (14:03)

Another new name to the show here, a French
ambient musician with a great interest in Fripp and Eno's experiments with
Revox tape recorders, should give you some clue as to where he's coming
from. This track comes from "Music For Unknown Worlds I", released some 2½
years ago, and I will definitely be coming back to his more recent material,
but this was too perfect for the storyline to miss! It's part of a 39 minute
suite, in which an hour a month on the radio doesn't allow me to fully
indulge, but I hope my edit does it some justice. So do treat yourself to
the whole piece when you get the chance, it's quite magnificent...

    Flow - Over Pluto (4:33)

As the running time may imply, this is a
track the Greek electro-experimentalist produced for one of Shaun Robert's
musique concrète compilations, namely "Oeuvres Pour l'Orchestre Toujours
Présent". There was no way I was going to miss Pluto out, I was really quite
pissed off when the powers that be re-classified it, feel like I was robbed,
grew up with nine planets, now I only have eight. Pluto will always be a
real planet to me and my gratitude to Mr. Flow for his musical
    acknowledgement. Rant over. For now...

    Bamboo Acrobat - Eris (2:46)

And why end there? There's all them little
planetoids at the edge of the system, had to include at least one of them,
and Eris is right at the fringe before interstellar space, which is where I
fear our intrepid crew will be heading next. So, Bamboo Acrobat; aka Ben
Price, sent me this album around four years ago, originally released on
Broken Tape Records, on which we (Magic Bullet) has our own first album
released, which I would guess is why he got in touch. Of course, I didn't
have a radioshow back then, so it just sat in my own personal collection,
until I rediscovered it recently when searching out material for this little
adventure. And now I can't get hold of Ben at all. Sod's Law, we call that.
So, if any of you know him (originally from Jacksonville, Florida), tell him
    to get in touch, appreciated...

Magic Bullet - The Twelve Days Of Christmas (4:40)

Speak of the devil. Something festive to
finish off with, from last year's "White Noise Christmas III" compilation on
    Default Standard...
