THE COMPLETE M&E CATALOGUE: THE MMATTERIAL
Listing all the
MMATT and related albums released on M&E, from the early
cassette demo releases of March 1987 through to the CD album "Creavolution"
in May 1996, after which the adventure didn't continue. But
maybe one day... |

T H E M A G I C M O M E N T S R E V I V A L Z O N E
All the cool stuff
that happened during the 9 week Facebook launch event for "Creavolution
Reborn", including 'Online Chats' with Marc Bell, Shona Moments, Julie White
Hawk, Mal 'Cieslak' Foster, Nick 'Morgan' Lewis , Thayen Rich, Jerry
Kranitz, Wayne Smith, Pippa Smith, Philip Hutchinson, Chris Carter, Inga
Leru-Kelly and Professor Damien Page. There's also some special features
with more music for you; "Zoen Nostalgia: The Forgotten Tracks", "The MMATT
Story: As Told By Flashbax Ω Ultimate", "Creavolution Reborn: The Whole
Story" and "The Final Event: Flashbax Omicron 13", including
3 free downloadable albums, here they come... |
|
|
|
1. "FLASHBAX OMICRON 13"
A very special 13
track free downloadable collection, featuring only tracks that had never
previously been digitised (except "Aftermath", which I'd honestly forgotten
had already gone online with "Grain-Aid!", my bad!), one from each of our 13
albums (or appropriate session where the whole album was already available),
so some absolute gems and serious rarities along the way. |
|
|
|
2. "LIVE AT FRIMLEY COMMUNITY
CENTRE"
A special edition
for the "Flashbax Omicron 13" online event, featuring our 45 minute live
debut from June 1986 (C-4010), plus the rehearsal in May for the infamous
gig-that-never-was, when we were still just "a husband and wife duo from
north west Surrey" (!), originally released as one side of the long
forgotten freebie "Live... And Sorry!" (C-4006). Can you hear me at the
back... |
|
|
|
3. "MMATTLAND COMMUNITY RADIO
FM"
Specially
digitised from the original C90 (MMATT 35) for the "Flashbax Omicron 13"
online event. Captain Garry Lee and The Black Widow, masquerading as Mrs. E
and Scrotum The Wrinkled Retainer, did this broadcast as an April Fool's
joke in 1992, on then pirate station, Freedom Overflow, playing only MMATT
and related until they finally passed out! So, not sparing their blushes... |

THE FLASHBAX SERIES, THE
MMATTRIX AND DESIGNER BRAIN DAMAGE...
Beyond the
familiar MMATT albums listed in The Complete M&E Catalogue, there were ten
volumes of our highly collectible "Flashbax" series. These were special
collections produced exclusively for other labels, which were released in 13
countries overall, spanning 4 continents. Then there were the two labels who
insisted on creating their own! And who could resist Clive Littlewood's
offer for an Electronical Dreams release when promised a cover by no less
than Alan Arthurs (pictured left)? Or Stan Batcow's offer of a release on
Pumf Records when promised he'd cut something out of a old sci fi comic and
stick that on it? |

FLASHBAX Ω ULTIMATE: THE
BEST OF MMATT (Klappstuhl Records, 2015)
A
best of the ten volumes of the original Flashbax series, covering the golden
age of the cassette years from 1986-1992, featuring both the original
foursome and the next generation with Pete Program and Leonie Jackson.
Digitally remastered from the original metal cassettes by Carsten S and the
team at Klappstuhl Records in Germany, available in a beautifully DIY
produced CDR edition or from their Bandcamp, both coming with a free bonus
download album and a 25 page A4 booklet in PDF format... |

"CREAVOLUTION 22"
22
years on from the eventual release of our best selling album ever, having
paid for itself many moons ago, we are pleased to make a second edition of it freely available
in high quality 320k mp3 format for the first time, right here on this
website. It's been specially re-edited for the digital age to work as standalone tracks, so you
can either listen to or download all your favourites till your heart's
content. This special second edition includes a whole album's worth of
extras; tracking from my first return to the studio after the demise of the
original band, all the way up to the aftermath of the album's release,
including a previously unreleased mix of TMR's "Armegeddon Time", and
"Storm", a never before heard unused track from the "Creavolution" sessions!
And all this inspired... |

"FREEDOM OVERFLOW" (RODENT TAPES BACKSTAGE,
2013)
I've always had
something of a soft spot for this one, in spite of it being composed of lo
fi 128k mp3's, because it was the first MMATT 'release' from the age of the
digital download. Gypsy put this up on the Internet Archive back in 2013,
including the title track, an early take of "Zen Sequent" and several tracks
from "White Hawk Atomic". It wasn't an official release, I didn't even know
about it at first, but we were old friends, so no hard feelings. In fact,
when Rodent later went on Bandcamp, we happily supported it with high
quality WAV files and new graphics. Alas Rodent on Bandcamp is sadly no
more. The IA original, however, remains freely available... |

WE WERE GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN!
The story of the
late 1980's Camberley bands
co-operative through which MMATT was launched on an unsuspecting world. The
20 page web-feature covers much about the early days of the band, from our
getting together in the first place through to the release of "Grain-Aid!"
and the birth of Music & Elsewhere. The ultimate secret origins tale for the
whole ka-bang, plus a special music page linked to Soundcloud... |
