FLASHBAX VOL.
6
Obscure Delight Tapes (UK)
Progressive Entertainment (Germany)
A1 "Psychojolting" - We open with the most recent line up, that's Mick
Magic, Lulu and Pete Program. From the album "White Hawk Atomic", recorded
October 1991. Right, that's the good stuff out of the way...
A2 "Zen Sequent" - Back to our first time in the studio for Earworm
Records, July '87, this is Mick with Shona Moments and Kate Twilight.
A3 "Story X" - The original four piece band, just add Jay Time to the
last track. This one is from "The Magic Moments Album", circa October 1987.
A4 "Pandora" - And back to "White Hawk Atomic", but just Mick and Lulu
on this one, Pete was busy train-spotting.
A5 "Us Weirdos Gotta Stick Together" - Now here's the proof that we
do spoil ya! This is from an old rehearsal tape that we found down the
back of the cupboards, so not previously released. It's the original band,
we think around September '87. Mono recording, sorry!
B1 "Tarts" - This one's seen a few releases, but hasn't been available
for quite a long time now (maybe coz Mick's ashamed of it!)... tis Mick solo
from around Autumn '86 and it's very rude. A little insight into what Mick's
human half used to get up to before MMATT! Shit, how embarrassing!
B2 "Traveller 2" - Another visit to the "White Hawk Atomic" album. Nuff
said.
B3 "Radio Armageddon" - This one comes from the original stage tapes,
only used for live shows. Backing sounds conceived and created by Kate and
Jay. Early '88?
B4 "Introduction / State Of the Art" - And we end at the beginning, with
Mick solo (and singing, for which he says he is very very sorry) from
February '87. An original from the "State Of The Art" demo, this is how it
sounded before Lord Litter got his hands on it. Oh dear...
Another of the Wayne Smith photos adorned the generic cover of the sixth
edition, this one taken on some derelict army land in Deepcut.

FLASHBAX VOL. 7
Alternate Media (UK)
Cat Killer (Germany)
A: "The Time Machine" (mini-album) - The entire set, as released
February '88. Shona Moments, Kate Twilight and Jay Time went back through
time in the Ford Escortron to meet up with Mick Magic a few months before
they met him really. Mick's contributions, therefore, are from him in
October '86, the others were back from February '88 even though they were
recording this with him in October '86. That much is simple, we're still
trying to figure out how Steve Jack's August '86 guitar solo found it's way
into the title track though? Such are the joys of time travel... (*see below
for track details)
B1 "Theme Zoen" - The instrumental that introduced the "Zoen Nostalgia"
album, just Mick, Kate and Jay. Recorded September '88.
B2 "Bewitched" - From the album "White Hawk Atomic", Mick, Lulu and Pete
Program, October '91.
B3 "State Of The Art" - Early daze... like MMATT was just a duo... then
Anna Haigh left and Shona stepped in on vocals at mega short notice. This is
a rare one from her first rehearsal, April '87.
B4 "Story X" - Another rehearsal, one month later, from that really very
funny "Live And Sorry" tape.
B5 "The Soultakers" - Back to "White Hawk Atomic", the live
show climax.
B6 "Still Feel Sick" - A hybrid of the "Pandora" rhythm pattern and "The
Scroll"... recorded Summer '87 for "The At Twilight Time Album". Also opened
our early promo video... and not many people know that.
