Having rocked out the rest of
the millennium with The Lord Litter Band, then Lord Litter & The Lazy
Sleepers, Jörg went back to solo recording again. I lost a few years here
myself, so let's jump in after my... er... 'sabbatical'. This is Litter
writing for the M&E Showcase towards the end of 2013;
In 2011,
I recorded a whole album entitled "Keep on Dancing". All was done. Then ..
digital disaster .. hard drive crash .. no backups ... all gone. .. except
this one song (which .. strange ... was my fave from the album). It
features an instrument which became, after years on the attic of my life,
a regular played one .. the uke! It is now an important and beloved sound
for my new duo Meta Georgia.

And then a few months later
for the May 2014 edition;
Taken
from a release I thought was lost in digital disaster. But my girlfriend
found a finished mastered CD in her archives in late 2013. So now it's
available, the CD: 'Still Dancin', recorded late 2011, released 2014. Lord
Litter - all vocals and instruments, except the muted trumpet.

And to his last great love,
the words of the man himself from the May 2014 edition...
Taken
from the CD 'Cream of Tartar', released 2013. Our first release after only
30 years .. yes it's true ... we know each other from the 1980s .. were in
bands and cooperatives then .. met and met and met again and again and ...
til we finally realised we're meant for eachother .. now we're together in
music and in life. Hilke Hesse: voc, guitar, composition - Lord Litter:
ukulele, voc, production.
Early Bird (3:31)
And from the September 2014
edition...
We wanted
to record one of the songs from the forthcoming CD .. but it was a bit too
early .. life you know .. life. So we decided to send one more of the
songs from our first CD, 'Cream of Tartar' (2013). We were mucho delighted
that people seemed to like 'Early Bird' which we had here last time .. so
here's another little flyin' animal.
Baby Bumble Bee (2:56)

This solo track actually
dates from 2000, recorded specially for our United World Underground
compilation CD, hence why it fits better at the end here. In 2017, to mark
Music & Elsewhere's 25th anniversary, the whole album was re-issued as
part of the 30 hour plus United World Underground Collection, thus making
it the very last Lord Litter track we ever had the pleasure of
releasing...
Lord Litter - Love Freak (3:26)
Litter's support for the
project was as enthusiastic as ever, dedicating a large chunk of the
Friday 13th October 2017 edition of his radioshow, Magic Music Box
International, to it... |

Lord Litter writing for the
September 2014 edition of the M&E Showcase...
This is
from the online release: 'The Space-Erly Brothers', with Charles Rice Goff
III. Since 2011 - I concentrate on making music with Meta Georgia. Solo
recordings became rare. With 'Still Dancin' I reached some kind of end, so
a longer break is welcome. .. one exception though ...: During the twelve
months between January and December, 2011, C Goff III and I produced the
eight recordings in this collection. Never having met in person, Goff
(USA) and myself began a long friendship as postal correspondents during
the mid-1980's. Over the years, we exchanged many volumes of original
recordings with one another, but we two great believers in the
home-recording underground had never collaborated to compose music
together until we embarked upon this project. We achieved our results
primarily by modifying original audio files that we exchanged over the
internet. 'Way Too Soon' is a composition by Charles Rice Goff III which I
produced alone (he produced my 'You Pump Me Up' from the 'Torn Between
Temptations' tape. 'Way' happened very organic / natural, when I picked up
the ukulele .. you can still download the whole release for free, I'm sure
Mr. Magic will put the link on the end.
Of course I will, I'm nice
like that...

In
September 2018, we switched roles and I granted him an interview for
Electronic Cottage, which he was writing for at the time. Thinking back,
it was probably the most in depth one I've ever given, easily drawn out of
me by a trusted old friend. More like sitting outside a pub in summer,
chatting over a pint. A month or so later, I published what would be a
final article about his activities on here. Not that he ever stopped. Right
up to the end. I'll miss him. I doubt I'll be alone it that. Farewell,
my friend, and say hi to John for me... |
