Magic Moments At Twilight Time As you can probably see on the screen there, I have one of your favourites cued up, give you a little breather from very embarrassing old moments! This is "Acidic Heaven", the Shona Moments original from The Magic Moments Album (but not my digitisation, I haven't done all of that album yet). Tune in, turn on, drop out...

Shona Atkinson You look quite distinguished with your glasses on by the way
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Why, thank you, kind lady.
Shona Atkinson Not bad at all dear sir
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Why were we not immediately famous with this image...
Magic Moments At Twilight Time And songs about class A drugs? All I take these days is stuff for me blood pressure... :(
Shona Atkinson Brilliant picture can’t think why maybe the mask quite scary but Nick looks fab x yes not good for the blood pressure at all
Magic Moments At Twilight Time So, "Acidic Heaven", right at the height of things with the original foursome. 1987 was an exciting year for all of us, what with The Grain etc. And, of course, somebody had a little modelling jaunt to Paris, didn't they? I'll be talking to Wayne at some point soon too.

Magic Moments At Twilight Time Stunning picture.
Shona Atkinson Working with The Grain was fab and Chris was amazing to be fair that trip to Paris was a real highlight and god I wish I looked like that now one of my favourite ever pictures of me
Shona Atkinson Yes it was stunning and it is tucked away in my collection forever
Shona Atkinson Wayne did a great job with the pictures
Magic Moments At Twilight Time You're not doing so bad! Hey, look what else I found...

Shona Atkinson Yes that modelling card was pretty good too
Shona Atkinson Lots of good times

Magic Moments At Twilight Time Bottom right picture was used for the cover of the "State Of The Art" demo in March 1987. But let's get on to The Grain a bit, because I always regard that as one of the most amazing periods of my life, and the festival was something else. Got a photo here from our first (At Twilight Time) set. Tell us something of your memories from the day, think it was the only day that September when it didn't piss down!
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Jay, Kate (bless her) and myself over on the right, Mal boogieing away on the left.
Shona Atkinson It was a great day and good weather as I remember. I remember that we all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Shona Atkinson Yes Kate bless her and Mal looked great
Shona Atkinson Jay was ever cool
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Mal's on the guest list too. Bit shy at first, but I coaxed him. Quite the well established writer these days. Jay, not a clue, well over 20 years since I saw him. And the festival, great, yeah, sadly didn't raise a fortune though! The other track you mentioned as being a personal favourite (one of mine too, as it turns out) was "Pandora", my tribute to silent movie star, Louise Brooks. What's special about that one for you (feels safer to ask the question of this one rather than "Acidic Heaven"! ;) )?
Shona Atkinson Yes met up with Mal a while back and he is doing great with the writing. I loved Pandora and it took a long time to get right for me but once it was there it sounded great. I remember struggling with the beat on this one but it was worth it in the end and I just loved the feel of the song
Shona Atkinson It was ingenious to be fair
Magic Moments At Twilight Time It was a very difficult rhythm, I know, but let's enjoy it anyway, this is "Pandora", again from the 1987 Magic Moments Album, but remastered in 2015 for "Flashbax Omega Ultimate: The Best Of MMATT" (Klappstuhl Records, SP 008, 2015)...

Magic Moments At Twilight Time You're right, that is a great track. It's nice that the really old stuff didn't get forgotten, I was dead chuffed when Klappstuhl asked about putting the 'Flashbax' album together, and really nice of Carsten S to make a couple of special copies just for you and I too! How did you feel to find out a good few of your tracks were included on the 'best of' (see, told you you had a good voice!)?
Shona Atkinson Digitally remastered to perfection sounds even better x I love the flat vocals and that synth and guitar riff wow
Shona Atkinson Yes it was nice to have the copy for myself. My voice was not at all bad looking back! I remember this so clearly as it is a difficult piece the vocal is quite eerie and it is just wow god job

Shona Atkinson I was chuffed to hear my old tracks thanks Carsten S :)
Magic Moments At Twilight Time I'll let him know! Sadly, back then, the good times didn't last. Jay left in April 1988, Kate not long after, then our marriage finally came to an end on July 24th 1988 (OCD has its advantages ;). Thankfully, it was nice and amicable and you stuck around to do a final few gigs, including our headline at The Crypt in February 1989, how funky were you looking in this one?
