procrastinate over.
Albert M Tron I'm stage diving off the sofa on to the coffee table.
Metaphorically speaking, I am nearly 750 years old, you know...
Mick Tron He's lying, he's just broken the cafétière...
Mick Tron He is nearly 750 years old though.
Albert M Tron Oh, there's some mornings I hardly feel a day over
693...
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Quite. Well, if you hit 'play' the
same time as me, that track should have just finished, so just one more to
go, and only running over by 8 minutes so far!
Magic Moments At Twilight Time "Zoen Nostalgia" was released in
July 1989; a few months later, in the March of 1990, I called time on the
whole project, gave up on trying to put a new band together and officially
closed down the label. It wasn't until the Spring of 1991 and my
accidental discovery of the underground
network
that anything else happened. March 1991 saw the release of a free
promotional cassette called "Flashbacks". It was a bit ill-conceived,
though it did help tell the new world we'd discovered something of what we
were about. But it's not an album, obviously.
Magic Moments At Twilight Time What we DID do for a 'new' album was
a second edition of "Zoen Nostalgia" - "Zoen Nostalgia II: Earthbound". It
was effectively a reissue, the main album being identical, just with a
different 45 minute's worth of bonus material to the original. So still
not album no. 12...
Gordon Borrows This is where I joined this wild and wonderful ride
after a review of the tape in the wonderful Organ zine. And also shows me
how late I was getting to this party.
Magic Moments At Twilight Time But you're still here 27 years
later, and that's what really matters to us! :)
Magic
Moments At Twilight Time That 12th album finally came from the recording of our
5th Anniversary concert on Alpha Nebuli IV, released on Earth under the
name of "White Hawk Atomic". "Hang on," I hear you say, "didn't MMATT come
to an end after Zoen Nostalgia?" Indeed we did, but this was MMATT 2, now
featuring Leonie Jackson on vocals and Pete Program on synth FX. An
undigitised track from "White Hawk Atomic" would, however, prove an
impossibility, as the entire album has been freely available on Soundcloud
for a few years now...
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Which is why I included "Aftermath"
from "Psychotron 0" - there was a live version of that on "White Hawk
Atomic" and "Flashbax Omicron 13" needed 13 tracks!
Albert M Tron You really think this through, don't you?
Magic Moments At Twilight Time Absolutely. So that was album no.
12, MMATT 34. MMATT 35 was the infamous "Mmattland Community Radio". For
those who don't know the story... Captain Garry Lee at Freedom Overflow
decided to do an April Fool's joke broadcast on 1st/2nd April (into the
wee small hours) 1992. He and The Black Widow, posing as Mrs. E and
Scrotum The Wrinkled Retainer, broadcast for the best part of the night,
pretending to be MCR FM, playing only things from the MMATT catalogue, and
getting gradually more off their tits as the night went on. Maybe
foolishly, Garry sent me a C90 of part of it they'd managed to record, and
I just thought, "Take the shame, Captain, I'm releasing it!" And I did.
And for the first time since the end of that golden cassette era, here it
is, an hour and a half of your life that you're never going to get back,
all available on a free download (Editor's Note: click on the cover image,
above right), enjoy muchly. Poor Garry, he'll be rolling over in his
grave. Oh, don't worry, he's not dead. But when he finds out I've
re-released this, it'll kill him! ;)
Mick Tron Our histories had completely diverged by this time, none
of this underground stuff happened on our side.
Albert M Tron I, of course, was off world at the time. |
Magic Moments At
Twilight Time Which brings us to the infamous 13th album,
"Creavolution", a glorious analogue remaster of which, "Creavolution
Reborn", is now available on TMR Records (Nimbit link)!
Magic Moments At Twilight Time The entire of the original album,
the unreleased track from the same session, plus just about everything you
could relate to it in any way, shape or form, is also already available
via the event I did on here a few weeks ago...
Magic Moments At Twilight Time So where do we go for a track? Well,
although the original acoustic version of "Spirit Electric" was remastered
for "Flashbax Ω Ultimate", there was also a demo that Leonie and I
recorded BEFORE going back to Raven Studio to do it properly. So there we
have our 13th and final track from this special collection, this is
"Spirit", take 1, recorded sometime circa the Summer of 1990 on our TEAC 4
track...
Mick Tron We had "Creavolution" on our Earth too, but there were
quite a few differences; for one, it was a double album; it featured a lot
of different personnel; and we handled all the recording and mastering
ourselves. There was no Marc Bell on this side, at least not that I ever
met...
