THE LAST FLASHBAX - VOL. 10

Phoenix Tapes (UK)

Ebus Music (Germany)

Unkenrufe (Austria)

Christ Forum (Greece)

Ignite Productions (Australia)

A1 "The Weirdobop" - And to open, the first track from "The Magic Moments Album", recorded November 1987 by the original line up of Mick Magic, Shona Moments, Kate Twilight and Jay Time. An alternative version of "Us Weirdos Gotta Stick Together". So there.

A2 "Albert The Ansafone" - Still a great mystery to us, this comic ode appeared on our telephone answering machine a few years ago, we still have no idea who did it though. What a pisser.

A3 "Zen Sequent" - Also from "The Magic Moments Album" is this take of "Zen", the music track of which was later inversed and used as...

A4 "Tranzphorm" - ... this track on the "Zoen Nostalgia" tape in the Summer of 1989.

A5 "The Eddie Irwin Song" - From April 1987 comes this, me and Nik "Exocet" Morgan pissing about and turning out this "loving tribute" to our friend, Mad Eddie. In spite of our wickedness, Eddie should get the credit for introducing me to Jay and Kate. Nice man. Footnote: Nik Morgan still can't sing.

A6 "Serendipity" - A piece of music by me solo, built from layers of a 1.4 second sample of an old tape of me and Shona doing "Come Outside" at a party in 1985. From "The At Twilight Time Album". recorded September 1987.

B1 "Trois" - Again from "The Magic Moments Album", the music track of which was also later used inverse and became...

B2 "Shazdanz" - ... this little gem, originally intended for "Zoen Nostalgia", but not included as some of the vocals were out of Shona's range. They were finally done by Lulu in 1990 and the track was released on the second edition of "Zoen".

B3 "Galina 3" - The instrumental version as it appeared for the first time on "Psychotron 0". First recorded by me, Jay and Kate in October 1987.

B4 "Aftermath" - And finally e come up to date with me, Lulu and Pete Program, from "White Hawk Atomic", recorded live on Alpha Nebuli IV, 25th October '91.

B5 "The Cylinder" - And what better place to end the Flashbax series than at the beginning, the first MMATT track ever, me solo, merely minutes after fusion, 25th October 1986. It's only 51 seconds long, so don't blink!

THE LAST FLASHBAX - VOL. 10

Subtitled "State Of The Art Not Included!", the last release of the final edition of the Flashbax series was issued by the Greek label Christ Forum in 1995. Chrysostomidis Chrysostomos (call us lazy, we just called him Chrys) did his own design for the inlay (above), even painstakingly translating the original sleeve notes from proper letters into squiggly-wiggly Greek ones. The full inlay (I've cut one panel out coz it would have been too wide otherwise) also included the photo of Shona Moments and myself, taken in the Summer of 1988 circa the launch of "Psychotron 0", that was used on the generic cover we supplied. This particular adaptation of that cover (below) is from the Phoenix Tapes release from 1993. All told, the music of Magic Moments At Twilight Time was released in at least 14 countries across four continents. Somehow, I think we really earned the tag; "the best band ever to come from the side of Farm Road that the shops were on."

That may have been the last of the Flashbax series, but there were another pair of unique MMATT albums too, "Designer Brain Damage" (PUMF 182, 1992) and "The Mmattrix" (Electronical Dreams, ED 033, 1993), we'll have a look at those on the last page...
