No visit to our old stomping
ground would be complete without a pose outside The Rock Box on London Road,
Camberley. That's the record store that started selling our demos way back
in March 1987, the first to do so, and without even taking a cut for themselves!
Behind
the counter back in the day; Ken
Dudley, the man who started The Rock Box, and whose generosity of spirit
helped pave the way for The Grain and the burgeoning local scene that
followed...
Pete and Paola Program, having spent quite a
few years in Italy, now live back in the UK again (I think they missed the
weather) and were able to come along too, accompanied by their son, Roberto,
whose picture I shall also omit coz teenagers are well self-conscious, innit?
Pete
in his capacity as 'live auxiliary and visuals man', setting up before our
first and only headline gig at The Crypt in February 1989. Of course, he's
also quite well known for doing all the synth FX on our best selling
cassette album, "White Hawk Atomic"...

Sensemillia Peach (aka Sam) and
Mick Magic cordially request your company at... well, the area had already
changed dramatically in the seven years since we moved, so we left it to
Shona to choose a nice pub for our meeting place. She picked The Tilly
Shilling in Farnborough, which I don't think had even existed back when we
lived down that way, but we liked the sound of it coz of happy memories of
Tilly The Space Cat. We spent many a happy hour there availing ourselves of
drinks and, I seem to recall, a rather nice curry.
Left to right: Nick 'Morgan'
Lewis, meself and Shona Moments. Nick's actually the only one of us who
hasn't gone the parent route, Shona came along with her daughter, Charlotte,
whose photo I shall omit, coz she's well funny about having it taken and
would probably tell me off if I published one of the sneaky ones I took!
And
the same again, only 32 years earlier. Shona, Nick 'The Exocet Kid' and
myself in one of our very first MMATT promo pictures, taken at Ron Francis
Studios in Camberley in April 1987. We didn't use this one at the time,
opting for the rather more mad one with me in a mask and boiler suit. The
question I get asked most? What happened to the bear! It's a sad tale, but one
day...

Our Twizz
was really looking forward to meeting Nick, coz she loves punking up and moshing to his epic
rendition of "The Eddie Irwin Song". And bless her, she'd been
seriously worried that he may get bored amongst
all the grown ups, so she took along lots of colouring and stuff to keep him
occupied. She liked him so much that she made him a hat. Nick liked the hat
so much that he wore it on the train, all the way back to Brighton! And if
you don't believe me, here's his selfie...
