copy. The main album contains some of the best versions of 12 of the most
popular MMATT tracks, from our studio debut for Earworm Records in the
Summer of 1987, through to the extra-terrestrial live mayhem of "White Hawk
Atomic" five years later. Along with this comes a free bonus download album,
"Flashbax Alpha II", featuring another hour of Mmatterial, specially chosen
by myself to best illustrate the band's origin story; you know, the usual
stuff, about how we didn't
think we were up to much at the beginning, so popped back in time in our
Ford Escortron to change our history. I'm sure most bands do something
similar. All
tracks were digitally remastered by Frank E. for Klappstuhl, and a rather
impressive job he made of it too. There's also a rather lush
24 PAGE BOOKLET (PDF FORMAT - 23MB)
to accompany the release, which is available free right here. We're
nice like that. Mostly. In addition to all of that wonderment, there's a lot more music you can play /
download for free, as well as links to information, articles and photos,
available via the Magic Moments ATT button on the navigation bar. Enjoy
muchly.
"IN SEARCH OF ALBERT" -
MAGIC MOMENTS REVIVAL
THE ADVENTURE
CONTINUES...
For
three years now, I've been talking about a new MMATT album, the Doc pointed
that out to me in no uncertain terms. There's nothing quite like having
another version of yourself to discuss your own issues with, like try
misleading yourself and see how far you get. Genuinely, it has been hard
work and very time consuming raising our Twizz, though there was always the
occasional afternoon when she was at nursery. There always seemed to be
something else begging for my immediate attention, some reason or the other
that I couldn't actually just get on with it. It almost feels like fate has
conspired to force me to wait until this moment, our 30th anniversary, and I
have the feeling it will not let me stall any longer. There's nothing else
in front of it in the queue now, project "In Search Of Albert" is under way,
not so much an album as an adventure! It's being done in 'episodes',
kind of like the old Saturday morning serials, "To Be Continued... Same
MMATT-Time... Same MMATT Channel...", you get the idea. The first episode,
consisting of three tracks; "Flashbax", "WΩ Advance Guard" and... well,
something ultimate! I don't want this to be a fixed point, rather I want it
to evolve organically. In the digital world, we are no longer limited to the
length of a piece of magnetic tape, or the capacity of a vinyl or compact
disc. The adventure can be as long as it needs to be, the story can end when
it ends, there are no boundaries we cannot cross, dimensional or otherwise.
The Doc and Mick Tron will both be working with me on the project, as far as
transdimensional travel permits, under the banner of Magic Moments Revival.
We have, of course, already collaborated on our magnum opus, the much
heralded "Variations", which will be unleashed on the ears of this
Earth in the coming months. We knew the expectation would be high; when
three men come together from two different spatial dimensions, it has to be
something special. So, we sought to explore the very ethos of MMATT; to
change your concept of sound, to break down musical barriers, to defy
categorisation, to make you believe your name is Albert. Have we succeeded?
You be the judge... soon!

THE INVITATION
While writing this and discussing the next great MMATT adventure, the above
message has just arrived in my inbox on Facebook, dated Saturday 9th July,
16:25 UTC. I did want to get this finished today so I'd have nothing more to
do tomorrow than the upload and notifications. But for the last 15-20
minutes, I've just been sat in something of a trance, not knowing quite how
to feel. I was looking forward to that half a lager and packet of crisps in
The Bourne Arms. Be grateful he didn't mention the two straws. Seriously
though...
FFFUUUCCCKKK!!! I'M GOING TO ANOTHER
DIMENSION!!!
It's okay, I've calmed down now. Hang on, 2 days of stuff to do, 3 days of
travel to get there, 3 again to come back, what do I do with Twizz? Her mum
is never going to let me take her to another dimension. Wonder if they have
child kennels for holidays? Probably not. Minute, I need to check this with
the Doc. Okay, back now. It's a bit confusing, let me see if I can pick the
bare bones out for you; apparently, their spacetime vehicles possess the
tech to "lock coordinates" (it's life, Jim, but not as we know it!) at the
dimensional exit points. Although there is some 'chronophasial drift' on
this (running variably between 1/731 - 1/949 of 'normal' time,
approximately, he tells me),
spacetime not being a static object, they can effectively return me to the
"same" point, so what I experience there as a week, may only result in a
quarter of an hour passing here. Fucks with your head, doesn't it? Like I
will have aged a week, while Sam and Twizz will only be 15 minutes older.
Hope she doesn't dump me for a younger bloke. Oh, and I get
the use of one of the Doc's 'Transcom' devices so I can post pictures and
stuff back to Facebook on our Earth! Which is rather fortunate, otherwise
everyone might just think I was making it all up. Shame on them, I know. You
can watch the whole adventure unfold live on social media, via our
MMATT FACEBOOK PAGE
(no account... hang on, I said I wouldn't say that again) on the weekend of
22nd/23rd October. If you're not connected to us on Facebook, you can
rectify that via the 'Contact' button, or make sure we have your e-mail so
you don't miss out on your invitation!
