A new label for the Magic
Bullet, and a new friend, in the shape of Paul Priest, our first in the
Czech Republic, hence why we titled it in his native tongue, he liked that.
And we're not above creeping. It means Wolf With Rifle, I'll explain
later, promise.

It was Skit who first waved the
call-out under my nose;
"Styles:
Loud! Noise. Harsh Noise. Harsh Noise Wall. Power Electronics. Industrial
Noise. Experimental. Cut-up / Collage."
"Skit like make ears bleed," he
said excitedly, "head vibrate, we do, yes?"
Well, I'm quite partial to a
bit of noise myself, and it's not something we do a lot of. This kind of
diversity is the basic principle of the Magic Bullet project; broad spectrum
experimentalism. We like to take inspiration from the labels we work with,
create things specially tailored to their needs, thus stretching ourselves
in the process. Comfort zones are for people who like feeling comfortable.
That's not us.
This is more of a head-vibrator
than an ear-bleeder, the latter of which we have done rather a lot of
recently anyway. The sounds are constructed from recordings of foghorns,
with which we toyed mercilessly, as is our way. It's quite an experience in
headphones, specially when the rifle shot at the end makes you jump! It's
actually the same sample backwards at the beginning, though it has much less
impact without the sudden attack.
Oh, and I promised I'd explain
the title; it's to do with my 9 year
old
daughter's favourite You Tuber. She says everything at one pitch; loud! And
I swear she edits out breaths as well, so you just get this near shouted
voice, relentlessly battering away at your ears. So that's it, it's coz of
this You Tuber that has a voice like a foghorn. And she's called Sniper
Wolf. Geddit? ;->
