Very flattered to be
asked by Chris Phinney to do the cover art for this Electronic Cottage
project, which I was more than pleased to do. That's the finished article on
the left, not bad, eh? The idea was a strange invading force flying over a
military fort by twilight. The picture is actually based on a photo I took
before an evening football match at Plymouth Argyle back in 2011, as is the
one for our own track here, designed to be complimentary, the arrival of
'The Dreamquake' itself a little later. I think I heard the word in that
Netflix series, Sandman, thought it had a kind of foreboding air to
it, perfect for what I wanted.

The track is also based on the
notion of an approaching force. You first hear them in the distance, then
growing ever nearer as the beating of drums grows louder and louder. And the
menacing sound? Yeah, it's created from lawnmower samples. As I was saying
in the previous entry, it's been a lawnmower kind of year thus far. You know
Skit and power tools. Anything that makes a noise really. And there's still
more to come; there's a 35 minute ear-bleeder (nostalgic, I know) we've done
for the forthcoming EFSPACM album for the RPM Challenge. Couldn't resist
dipping our toes in one more time. Getting sentimental in our old age, eh?
