Everything that's been happening on the MMATT front of late may well have
been mostly to do with 30 years in the past, but that doesn't mean nothing
new is going on, trust me, I'm a spaceman. I'm still busily crossing the
t's and dotting the i's in polishing up the lyrics for "In Search Of
Albert", but I've had to put anything further on the back burner for the
time being because of the M&E 25th. My every spare hour recently has been
going into digitising cassette masters, liaising with bands and putting
together material for the first couple of music (and elsewhere)
collections, which I hope to start releasing in the Summer. In the
meantime, I hope you'll continue to enjoy "Variations (On A Theme By Peppa
Pig)" and "The Electric Age Cometh", and do pick yourself up a copy of our
best of double album, "Flashbax Ω
Ultimate" (Klappstuhl Records, SP008) if you haven't already. You'll find
links to all three items on
THE MMATT PAGE in the last issue
of The Magic Net Newszine. Also, if
you enjoy a read, perhaps I can give my book a little plug too...
"THE
SECOND WORLD CHRONICLES"
by
Sati Varg
An unexpected consequence of the great "Down The Rabbit Hole" catastrophe,
this is a collection of journal entries that masquerades as science
fiction, photographic evidence serving only to further blur the lines. So
what light can it shed on the confusion our 30th anniversary event left
behind? Having been invited to the parallel Earth to share in the
celebrations of the somewhat more successful MMATT of that world, I had
left here for Hackensall Woods that fateful Sunday afternoon, where I
eagerly awaited the craft that would take me to the other side. The skies
had darkened and there it had materialised, near the top of the tree line.
Following an exchange of pleasantries with the pilot and becoming lost in
the sense of awe at what I was experiencing, I must have lost
consciousness. The journals begin with my waking up in a dark cellar,
having no idea of who I was, where I was or how I had got there. Just a
man alone, but painfully aware of the alien menace that filled the skies
above. When I was rescued three months later and returned to my own world,
I remembered nothing of |
"They came this morning. The skies had
darkened first, as would herald the arrival of a summer storm, though it
was filled with strange throbbing rhythms, as would herald the arrival of
a nightmare."
what had happened to me. Though told I had been gone only a few hours, I
could offer no explanation for the three months growth of hair and beard
that now adorned my head and face. These journals and accompanying
photographs were recovered from the devices I had with me on my journey.
It's available free in PDF format (3.31 MB), reads fine on Sam's Kindle,
though the colour photos don't look too brilliant as it's one of the old
black and white models. Just click on the above photo and enjoy muchly.
